The Fluke 5790B AC Measurement Standard is a multi-purpose AC measurement and transfer standard designed for the most demanding calibration applications. It combines the accuracy you would expect from a thermal transfer standard with the ease of use of a digital multimeter. Absolute AC voltage measurement uncertainties are as low as ± 24 ppm (one year, 23 °C ± 5 °C). The Fluke Calibration 5730A High Performance Multifunction Calibrator is the culmination of years of engineering development, customer research and industrial design, to bring to market the new “gold standard” in electrical multifunction calibration.

Like its predecessors, the 5730A calibrates a wide range of digital multimeters, up to long-scale 8.5 digit DMMs, as well as RF voltmeters when equipped with the wideband option. But this new model features improved specifications that will help you increase test uncertainty ratios (TURs) and increase test confidence. In 2002, Fluke Calibration launched the 6100A Electrical Power Calibration Standard.

The Fluke 6100A electrical power calibrator has now been replaced by the Fluke 6105A and 6100B. These newer models have the same power quality features and accuracy as their predecessors, to comfortably meet the accuracy requirements for current power quality testing standards. In addition, they feature improved accuracy to match that of the best measurement devices for sinusoidal waveforms.

Few systems can match the 0.007% (66 ppm) one year energy accuracy provided by the 6105A for sinusoidal waveforms. Waveforms with high harmonic distortion are delivered with similar accuracy traceable to national and international standards.

Choosing between a 6100B or 6105A electrical power quality calibrator depends on your accuracy requirements. Both models meet all accuracy requirements of power quality testing to the IEC 61000-4 series of standards. The 6100B electrical power calibrator can also be used to type test 0.1% to 2% energy meters.

Choose the 6105A electrical power calibrator when you need the highest accuracy available for calibrating secondary standard meters, energy revenue meters and type test applications. The 6105A provides the accuracy required to verify the performance of secondary standards such as those produced by Radian Research, Zera, and MTE.

The Fluke Calibration 52120A Transconductance Amplifier supplies DC current up to 100 amps and AC current up to 120 amps, at accuracies to 140 ppm. Using accessory coils, it can generate 3,000 or 6,000 amps. Three 52120As connected in parallel can output up to 360 amps. Inductive drive capability of 1 mH and compliance voltage of 4.5 volts support a wide range of applications.

Today’s smart grid relies on phasor measurement units (PMUs) to deliver real-time, mission critical data on the voltage, current, frequency and phase within the distribution grid. To ensure consistent, accurate and credible PMU data, it is essential that PMUs be properly calibrated.

The Fluke 6135A/PMUCAL Phasor Measurement Unit Calibration System is the only fully automated and traceable PMU calibration system available today. It is an ideal solution for PMU designers and manufacturers, as well as for national metrology institutes (NMIs). It’s also a perfect solution for third party calibration houses, electrical power utilities and organizations associated with electrical power transmission.

Applications include calibrating PMUs before they are installed, and as required throughout their operational life; performing type tests of PMUs and other power grid tools; and performing first article approvals. Because the 6135A includes a three-phase 6135A Electrical Power Calibration Standard, you can also use it to calibrate wide workload of electrical power and power quality test instruments.

The integrated 6135A/PMUCAL system fully complies to the IEEE C37.118.1a-2014, IEEE Synchrophasor Measurement Test Suite Specification-Version 2-2015 and C37.242-2013 standards for PMU operation and verification. The system also fully complies to the 2016 draft standard IEC/ IEEE 60255-118 Ed.1. Because it is fully automated, even non-expert users can start using it quickly, performing a complete complement of required tests in just a few hours, as opposed to many days with manual techniques.

6135A/PMUCAL at a glance

  • Calibrate and test a PMU from a client PC, either at the site of the test system or remotely over the Internet
  • Quickly set up a PMU test
